The reason for the abnormal noise of the turbocharger?
When there is a problem with the turbocharger, it will also have some abnormal phenomena. The turbocharger has abnormal noise. There are six main possibilities:
The supercharger is damaged (the shaft is stuck, the impeller scrapes the shell), and the metal friction produces abnormal noise;
Air leakage in the intake and exhaust pipes, or cracks in the intercooler, leakage of pressurized gas;
The membrane of the bypass valve is ruptured, and the pressurized gas leaks; the inner wall of the casing has burrs or bulges, and the high-speed air flows through it and produces abnormal noise
Dirt accumulation in the diffuser section of the supercharger;
The surface of the impeller is dirty, and the airflow is not smooth;
If you encounter abnormal sound of the turbocharger, it is recommended to check the following methods:
1.check whether the turbocharger is damaged.
2.If the turbocharger is not damaged, confirm whether there is oil leakage in the intake and exhaust pipes and the intercooler.
Check the clamp of the intake pipe, and use soapy water to check for cracks.
Check whether there is air leakage on the joint surface of the turbocharger and the engine exhaust manifold, and the joint surface of the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold;
Check whether there are cracks in the intercooler, causing air leakage;
Check whether the membrane of the bypass valve of the turbocharger is ruptured. If it ruptures, it will be accompanied by insufficient power.
3. If there is no air leakage in the pipeline connection, check the internal flow channel of the turbocharger:
Whether there are burrs or bulges on the inner wall of the casing;
Whether the impeller is fouled;
Whether the diffuser section is fouled. The maintenance of the turbocharger is very important. At the same time, we should pay special attention to some abnormal phenomena that occur in daily life, such as the abnormal noise introduced.
