1. Press surge.
When the turbocharger is working, when the compressor encounters a decrease in air flow, to a certain extent, the air flow of the compressor will have a strong sense of vibration, and the blade will also vibrate. And accompanied by the wheezing noise, there will be an obvious drop in intake pressure, which is called press surge at this time.
2. Pressurization pressure drop.
When the turbocharging pressure drops close to 10%, we need to stop and check quickly, because at this time, the charge of the diesel engine is reduced, the power is also decreasing, the fuel consumption is increasing, and the exhaust temperature is increasing.
3. Abnormal sound of turbocharger.
The abnormal noise of the supercharger is generally due to the damage of the turbocharger impeller or the small gap between the rotor impeller and the shell, especially the pressure parts entering the foreign body will seriously wear the moving parts, resulting in dry friction and abnormal noise.
What are the factors between the obvious high oil consumption and the supercharger?
1. Compressor leak detection engine oil.
If the diesel engine only emits blue smoke from the exhaust pipe without a drop in power, it is usually caused by the oil entering the combustion chamber through the side of the turbocharger compressor or the intake pipe of the diesel engine.
We can open the air outlet of the compressor or the intake of the diesel engine to check to see if there is any attached oil and troubleshoot it.
2. Turbine leak detection oil.
If the diesel engine suddenly emits blue and white smoke, and there is a lot of smoke, accompanied by the smell of burning oil, the fuel consumption increases obviously, in this case, the oil seal on the side of the turbocharger is damaged, and a large amount of oil enters the turbocharger through the exhaust pipe. White smoke began to appear at this time.
We need to stop and check immediately and repair and replace the turbocharger assembly.
